September Cooking Demo Replay – 72 Hour Kit Foods
BREAKFASTS
These can be put in ziplock bags, foodsaver bags, or mylar pouches. Ziplock bags will not have as long of a shelf life. Label your bag with the recipe name and instructions.
Cereal w/ Milk and Fruit
1 c. Cold Cereal
1/2 c. Thrive Freeze-Dried Fruit (Blueberries or Bananas ON SALE)
1/4 c. Thrive Instant Milk (ON SALE)
Directions: Add 1 cup of water to your mix and stir well. You can prepare this right in the bag!
Oatmeal Mixes
1/2 cup Quick Oats
1 T. Thrive Honey Crystals or White Sugar
1 T. Thrive Instant Milk (ON SALE)
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/2 cup of Thrive fruit of choice (Blueberries or Bananas ON SALE)
Directions: Add 3/4 cup of water to oatmeal mix. Let stand until soft in the bag or cook for 3-5 minutes in a small pot.
Egg Scramble
1/4 cup Thrive Scrambled Egg Mix
1 T. Thrive Chopped Onions
1 T. Thrive Green Chili Peppers
2 T. Thrive Red Bell Peppers (ON SALE)
1 T. Thrive Spinach (ON SALE)
2 T. Thrive Sausage or Ground Beef (Beef is ON SALE)
1 T. Thrive PepperJack Cheese (ON SALE)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions: Add 1/2 cup of water to mix. Pour mixture into a frying pan and cook like regular eggs. Alternative cooking method is to bring a pot of water to boil and gently hold the baggie of egg mixture in it until it is cooked through.
LUNCHES
These can be put in ziplock bags, foodsaver bags, or mylar pouches. Ziplock bags will not have as long of a shelf life. Label your bag with the recipe name and instructions.
Chicken Noodle Soup
2 tsp. Thrive Chicken Bouillon
1 tsp. Thrive Chef’s Choice Seasoning (seasoned salt)
2 T. Thrive Chopped Onions
1/4 c. Thrive Corn
1/4 c. Thrive Grilled Chicken Dices (ON SALE)
2 T. Thrive Celery
1/4 c. Thin Egg Noodles (or pasta of choice)
Directions: Pour two cups of boiling water into the bag and let stand for 5-7 minutes until noodles and chicken are soft.
Chicken Chili
1/4 tsp. Chili Powder
1/4 tsp. Garlic
1/4 tsp. Cumin
2 tsp. Thrive Chicken Bouillon
1 T. Thrive Tomato Sauce
2 tsp. T. Thrive Green Chili Peppers
1 T. Thrive Onions
2 T. Instant Rice
1/4 c. Thrive Instant Black Beans (ON SALE)
2 T c. Thrive Corn
1/4 c. Thrive Chopped Chicken (ON SALE)
Directions: This one is easier to cook in a pot. Add ingredients to 1.5 cups of boiling water and cook until beans are soft and chili is thick. IF you try to make it in the bag it will take quite long for the beans to cook up.
Taco Soup
3 tbsp Thrive Ground Beef (ON SALE)
3 tbsp Thrive Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese (ON SALE)
2 tbsp Thrive Sweet Corn
1 tbsp Thrive Chopped Onions
1 tbsp Thrive Green Chili Peppers
1 tsp Taco Seasoning Mix
Directions: Add 1/3 cup of boiling water to bag and let stand until beef is soft.
DINNERS

Fajita burrito bowls
1/4 c. Thrive Instant Black Beans (ON SALE)
1/4 c. Thrive Chicken or Beef (ON SALE)
1/4 c. Thrive PepperJack Cheese
1/4 c. Thrive Red Bell Peppers (ON SALE)
1 T. Thrive Green Chili Peppers
1 T. Thrive Chopped Onions
1/2 T. Thrive Tomato Sauce
1/4 c. Thrive Sweet Corn
1/2 T. Taco Seasoning
Directions: This one is easier to cook in a pot. Add ingredients to 1 1/2 c. Hot Water (or more if needed). Cook until beans are soft.
Chili Mac
1 T. Thrive Chopped Onions
2 tsp. Thrive Green Chili Peppers
2 T. Thrive Sweet Corn
1/4 c. Thrive Instant Black Beans (ON SALE)
1/4 c. Thrive Ground Beef (ON SALE)
Noodles from 1/2 box Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
In a separate baggie:
1/2 Cheese powdered from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese
1 T. Thrive Instant Milk
2 tsp. Thrive Tomato Sauce Powder
1/2 tsp. Chili Powder
1/4 tsp. Seasoned Salt
1/8 tsp. Pepper
Directions: This one is easier to cook in a pot. Add ingredients to 1 1/2 c. Hot Water (or more if needed). Cook until beans are soft.
Chicken Teriyaki
1/4 c. Thrive Chicken or Beef (ON SALE)
1/4 c. Instant Rice
1/4 c. Thrive Pineapple
1/4 c. Thrive Red Chili Peppers
1/2 tsp. Sesame Seeds
1 T. Brown Sugar
1 T. Teriyaki Powder mixture (from packet)
Directions: Add 1 cup bowling water to bag and let stand until chicken and rice are soft.
SNACK MIXES
These snack mixes can be put in ziplock bags, foodsaver bags, or mylar pouches.
Mountain Man Trail Mix
Equal parts peas, corn, sausage, cheese and a little seasoning salt.
Fruit/Yogurt Mix
Mix your favorite (or on sale) fruits in about 3 to 1 ratio with your favorite yogurt bites. I love a tropical mix like pineapple, mango, and coconut!
Granola
Mix your favorite (or on sale) fruits, chocolate chips, and/or nuts into either homemade or store-bought granola.
