Thrive’s August monthly delivery specials included the scrambled egg mix which is a favorite of mine but also the powdered milk at 50% off. These two ingredients make me think of EGG NOG and I started craving it as all the fall flavors are starting to hit the shelves. This recipe is a light, fat-free version and actually makes for a refreshing summer drink if you make it with ice!

For True? We can actually consume the freeze-dried scrambled egg powder raw? Maybe I’m missing something here, but I thought powdered Scrambled Egg was still raw egg. Does freeze-drying it actually kill the potential salmonella or whatever eggs tend to have that needs to be killed with heat? Perhaps you can share with me how this works. I am not sure how store-bought eggnog is made, but I’m sure there’s some sort of process to make it safe for consumption.
