Pizza Casserole Recipe (Meal-in-a-Jar)

July 7, 2024 by Jodi Weiss Leave a Comment

Thrive’s July monthly delivery specials included mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce so of course my brain went to PIZZA! I have done a full-blow pizza meal-in-a-jar recipe before so this time I decided to try an easy one-pot pizza casserole recipe and it did not disappoint.

Pizza Casserole Recipe (Meal-in-a-Jar)

Don’t forget all ingredients will be cheaper and are available for free shipping for delivery customers if your order is over $100. One quart-size jar will make 4 servings.

Jar Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c. Thrive Tomato Sauce
  • 3/4 c. Thrive Sausage
  • 1/4 c. Thrive Sliced Onions
  • 1 1/2 c. Rotini Pasta
  • 1 c. Thrive Mozzarella Cheese (in ziplock bag)

Directions:

To make jar: Add all ingredients to a quart-sized jar in order listed. If putting in reverse order you can add heaping servings. Keep mozzarella cheese on top and you may have to shove it down hard to get it to fit into the jar if not using a wide-mouth jar. Add an oxygen absorber or seal with a foodsaver jar lid attachment.

To prepare: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove cheese baggie from jar. Pour remaining contents and 2 cups of water into a 9×9 square baking dish. Stir well. Bake 20 minutes and then stir. Meanwhile pour cheese onto a plate covered in a few layers of paper towels. Drizzle water over cheese until it hydrates. Sprinkle the hydrated cheese over the casserole and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until cheese is golden brown. Let stand a few minutes before serving.
