December Cooking Demo Replay – Christmas Goodies
ALMOND/FRUIT BARK
This fruity almond bark can be customized to whatever you like or whatever is on sale. It’s always a hit with a crowd.
Ingredients:
2 c. Melting Chocolate
1/2 tsp. Coconut Oil (unless your chocolate doesn’t need it)
Almonds
Freeze Dried Berries (I recommend the RED ones – ON SALE)
Yogurt or Coconut Bites
Directions: Melt chocolate and coconut oil in a double boiler or in the microwave until smooth. Pour into a 9×9 pan lined with wax paper. Sprinkle cranberries or other red berries onto lined pan. Pour melted chocolate over top. Add almonds on top, then add whatever extras you want. I love it with strawberries, raspberries (use powder and small chunks). Allow to cool in fridge until chocolate is hardened. Can customize with other nuts, fruits, and yogurt bites to make all kinds of varieties.
DIPPED PRETZELS
These dipped pretzels are a cute addition to a neighbor treat plate or a snack around the holidays.
Ingredients:
Large Pretzel Rods
2 c. White Melting Chocolate
Red Freeze-Dried Berries, chopped or powdered – ON SALE
Directions: Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Dip ends of pretzels into the chocolate. Sprinkle red fruits over top. To make green ones you could sprinkle green sprinkles over half of them. Allow to cool and then remove from the waxed paper.
CRANBERRY HONEY BUTTER
This is perfect for a gift in cute little jars!
Ingredients:
1 c. Butter, softened
1/3 c. Freeze-Dried Cranberries, chopped finely
1/4 c. Honey, warmed
2 tsp. Orange Zest
1/8 tsp. Kosher Salt
Directions: Add a few tablespoons of water to the cranberries in a small bowl until they are slightly softened but not sopping wet and side aside. Beat the softened butter in a stand mixer. Add orange zest. Add warmed honey. Add salt. Finally, mix in the cranberries until barely combined. Scoop into 1/4 pint or 1/2 pint jars. Feel free to save this label and use for Christmas gifts.
CRANBERRY SALSA DIP (IN-A-JAR)
We’ve made this before but here are the instructions to make them in individual batches for cute gifts in jars.
Ingredients:
1 pkt True Lemon
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/2 T. Dried Cilantro
1/4 c. Powdered Sugar
1 T. Thrive Green Onions
2 T. Thrive Green Chili Peppers (ON SALE)
1/2 c. Thrive Sweetened Cranberries
Directions: Put all ingredients into a 1/2 pint jar in the order listed. Add a label with instructions to add 1/3 cup of water to the jar and stir well. Pour over cream cheese and server with crackers.
SPINACH DIP
Another yummy dip which can be used for parties or put into a 1/2 pint size jar and given as a gift.
Ingredients:
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 tsp. Dried Garlic (or Freeze-Dried)
1 T. Ranch Dressing Seasoning Blend
3/4 c. Sour Cream Powder (ON SALE)
1/2 c. Freeze-Dried Spinach (ON SALE)
1/2 c. Parmesan Cheese
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Stir in 3/4 c. of boiling water until dip is smooth. Refrigerate until thickened. Serve with veggies or crackers. To make in a jar combine all ingredients in order listed into a pint size jar!
ONION DIP
One more dip and this one is especially great for those with food sensitives who can’t eat store-bought onion dip. Once you try this one you may never go back to store-bought! This can be quadrupled to put in a 1/2 pint size jar. Or you could use powdered sour cream and not add any sour cream!
Ingredients:
1/2 c. Sour Cream or Plain Yogurt
1 tsp. Thrive Beef Bouillon
1 T. Thrive FD Onions (chopped or green onions)
FD or dehydrated Chives as garnish
Directions: Mix and chill for 30-60 minutes. Add garnish before serving. Serve with favorite chips or veggies.
