Easy Wassail Drink-in-a-Jar

December 20, 2022 by Jodi Weiss 1 Comment

Thrive’s December monthly delivery specials included apples and since it’s Christmas time I thought it would be fun to try to make wassail using freeze-dried apples. This would be a great gift idea too if you are still thinking of putting together neighbor or teacher gifts.

Easy Wassail Drink-in-a-Jar

All ingredients will be cheaper and are available for free shipping for delivery customers if your order is over $100. A pint-sized jar will provide 4-6 servings.

Jar Ingredients:

  • 1 c. Thrive Freeze-Dried Fuji Apples, powdered
  • 2 T. Tang Drink Mix
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/16 tsp. Lemonade Powder
  • 3 T. Brown Sugar
  • 2 Whole Cinnamon Sticks
  • 8 Whole Cloves
  • 1 c. Thrive Freeze-Dried Fuji Apple Slices

Directions:

To make jar: Place ingredients into the jar in the order listed. Place apple slices in and around the cinnamon sticks to make it look pretty. You can fill the rest of the jar with apples if there is room to spare after 1 cup.

To prepare: In a medium stock pot combine 5 cups of water with contents of jar. Using medium low heat bring to a simmer. Simmer 30-40 minutes. Remove apples and whole cloves. Add additional brown sugar to taste if desired. Ladle into mugs and enjoy!
