Chicken Pot Pie Meal-in-a-Jar Recipe

November 25, 2019 by Jodi Weiss Leave a Comment

Thrive’s November monthly specials include chicken so I thought of a few ideas and had my facebook group members vote on which one to make.  Well they picked Chicken Pot Pie so that is the one I chose! Check out the sale items and how they are used in this month’s recipes.

Chicken Pot Pie Meal-in-a-Jar Recipe

All ingredients will be cheaper and are available for free shipping for delivery customers if your order is over $100. This recipe will fit in one quart jar and make one pie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp. Thrive Chefs Choice
  • 1/4 c.. Thrive Velouté (Rich Chicken Gravy)
  • 1/4 c. Thrive Chopped Onions
  • 1/3 c. Thrive Celery
  • 1/3 c. Thrive Green Peas
  • 2/3 c. Thrive Sweet Corn
  • 1 c. Thrive Diced Potatoes
  • 1 c. Thrive Chopped Chicken

Directions:
To make jar: Add ingredients to jar in order listed for a prettier jar, add ingredients in reverse order if you want to do heaping servings.

To prepare:  Pour 3 1/2 cups of water into a large saucepan.  Add contents of jar and stir thoroughly.  Cook 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are soft.  Pour mixture into a pie crust set into a pie pan and cover with an additional pie crust.  Make small slices in the crust for venting.  Cook at 350 for about 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.

Shopping List

Makes 13-14 quart jars

Add these items to your monthly delivery and you should be able to make 10-12 jars worth of meals.  Sometimes the product settles and you won't get a full 12 cups out of a #10 can or certain ingredients have a few less servings.I'd rather have you plan to have some extras than be sad about not having enough!
  • Thrive Chefs Choice (1 spice can)
  • Thrive Velouté (1 pantry can)
  • Thrive Chopped Onions (1 pantry can)
  • Thrive Celery (1 pantry can)
  • Thrive Green Peas (1 pantry can)
  • Thrive Sweet Corn (2 pantry cans)
