Thanksgiving with Thrive

November 10, 2015 by Jodi Weiss Leave a Comment

thanks
Can you believe the holiday season is already upon us. Thanksgiving is coming up and this year I’m looking for ways to save time in the kitchen. Thrive foods will be featured in a big way this year at our dinner table. I’m starting to enter the phase of life where I host Thanksgiving here and there. I can’t just go to mom’s house anymore and get away with bringing a pie from Costco. For those of you out there who need things to be a little easier, or you aren’t quite sure how to pull off some traditional Thanksgiving foods, make sure you watch some of the videos below. Who doesn’t love attending a cooking class in their pj’s on their computer!

Rolls:

doughOne of my favorite Thrive items is their Country White Dough Mix. 3 and 3/4 cups of this mix with a package of yeast and water and I have fresh rolls, pizza crust and breads. It’s so easy in fact, today I opted to make these rolls for a dinner I was bringing to a friend because it was easier than getting a loaf of french bread at the grocery store.

Mashed Potatoes:

The Thrive Mashed Potatoes are just that – JUST POTATOES. Usually mashed potato mixes come with so many additives I just can’t do it. I don’t love peeling, boiling, and mashing potatoes. These save so much time in the kitchen. Since I’ll be saving so much time I’m tempted to try this loaded mashed potato recipe… did someone say bacon!?’

Stuffing:

My favorite stuffing is my mom’s stuffing. Bread, carrots, onions, celery, and spices. It’s classic. Thrive’s freeze-dried veggies in this recipe are perfect. I’ll have to cut up bread pieces but that’s all the chopping I’ll be doing here. If you’re into more exciting, gourmet stuffing, you really should check out Chef Todd’s cornbread stuffing. I have never tried something from Chef Todd I haven’t liked. Check out how to make the Cornbread stuffing here:

Turkey Brine:

Buying fresh herbs and spices always make foods better but then you have a whole lot of them left over. I love the freeze-dried spices from Thrive because they are fresher than dehydrated and I only use what I need. Makes me want to try out this Turkey Brine featured in this month’s Thrive it up cooking class. You must watch this:
