MEAL IN A JAR: SAUSAGE LASAGNA

February 16, 2015 by Jodi Weiss 5 Comments

Meals in a jar are something a lot of you have been very interested in lately. These are great because you can make a lot of them ahead for storage or quick and easy meals. They beat freezer meals because you don’t have to come up with the freezer space and you won’t get freezer burn on these. In November, as a thank you to our customers, we sent you a copy of our mini meal-in-a-jar cookbook that contained this recipe for a sausage lasagna. We wanted to share this recipe with you today because a number of ingredients in it are in the February Specials!

If you’re not on our list, make sure you sign up here to get cool things like this.

Any reason why these ingredients couldn’t be placed in a zip-lock bag instead of the mason jar? Don’t have a lot of room to store jars.

That would work fine. Your shelf life wouldn’t be as long as if it was sealed in a jar. If you had foodsaver bags you could seal them that way too. If you are doubling recipes a bag works better too!

With my larger family, 1 jar won’t be enough. I’m using foodsaver bags and doubling recipes. The jars are definitely prettier 😉
